Qld: Woman to face court over 2-y-o traffic accident death

A woman will face court today on charges of manslaughter and attempted murder over
a road accident two years ago that left one man dead and another injured.

It's alleged the 21-year-old woman forced a ute in which she was a passenger off the
Bruce Highway near Babinda, south of Cairns in October, 2002, by pulling on the steering
wheel during a dispute with its male driver.

Two men in the back of the ute were flung out of the tray.

One of them was bruised in the incident while the other, aged 42, died on the way to hospital.

The driver and another passenger escaped uninjured.

The woman -- who fled Queensland and was only recently found -- will appear today in
Innisfail Magistrates Court.
