Fed: Hockey trying to palm off tax blame : Crean

The Federal Opposition says Acting Treasurer JOE HOCKEY is trying to palm off the blame
for an embarrassing series of backflips on GST price rounding.

Mr HOCKEY blames the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission for confusion over
rounding up, by which businesses may be able to charge more than the 10 per cent GST.

He says the consumer watchdog has misunderstood the government's determination to ensure
Australians don't pay more than 10 per cent GST when the tax comes …
